Source: steam distillation from the leaves and young twigs of the evergreen tree that is native to Australia, New Caledonia, and the French Pacific Islands.

Description and Odor Effect: a colorless, pale yellow or greenish liquid with a sweet, fresh, camphoraceous odor.

Nature: purifying, uplifting

Blends well with: cedarwood, eucalyptus, myrrh, lavender, rosemary

Physical Uses: Niaouli has excellent antiseptic properties that aid in the treatment of acne, boils, burns, cuts, insect bites, oily skin, spots, skin ulcers and wounds. Use in a rub for muscular aches and pains, poor circulation and rheumatism. Niaouli can be used as an inhalant or in a massage blend for the relief of respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis, catarrhal conditions, coughs, sinusitis, sore throat and whooping cough. Niaouli also has strong antibacterial properties which can be used for cystitis, urinary infection, colds, fever and influenza.

Mental and Emotional Uses: Niaouli helps to release emotional burdens and tension. It brings on feelings of expansion. It can assist in easing frustration and clearing the mind.
