Source: a concrete and absolute from 1. fresh leaves, 2. flowers of the small, tender, perennial plant native to Europe and parts of Asia.
Description and Odor Effect: 1. leaf absolute is an intense dark green viscous liquid with a strong green-leaf odor and a delicate floral undertone. 2 the flower absolute is a yellowish-green viscous liquid with a sweet, rich, floral fragrance.
Blends well with: tuberose, clary sage, tarragon, cumin, hop, basil, hyacinth, and other florals
Physical Uses: For skin care, violet oil is used for acne, eczema, refines pores, thread veins and wounds. It is used in the treatment of fibrosis, poor circulation, rheumatism, bronchitis, catarrh, mouth and throat infections, dizziness and headaches.
Mental and Emotional Uses: The uplifting scent of violet helps treat insomnia and nervous exhaustion. The scent was believed to comfort and strengthen the heart.
Therapeutic Properties: analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, calmative, demulcent, diaphoretic, diuretic, emetic, expectorant, febrifuge, hypnotic, laxative, liver decongestant, pectoral, sedative, stimulant (circulatory system), uplifting, vulnerary
Application: application, aroma lamps, bath, fragrancing, inhaler, lightbulb ring, massage, mist spray
Violet Magic: when the flowers are carried they offer protection against 'wykked sperytis' and bring changes in luck and fortune. Mixed with lavender, they are a powerful love stimulant and also arouse lust. If you gather the first violet in the spring your dearest wish will be granted.
